Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the near future is full of uncertainty. As we welcome the summer months, we are all wondering - when will the country get back to business-as-usual?

We want to start by stating our gratitude to the frontline workers, first responders, hospital staff, and essential business employees who have been putting their own lives at risk, working day in and day out, helping those suffering from this serious virus, and to the scientists tirelessly hustling to find the cure. Our hearts also go out to those still suffering, and to the families who have lost their loved ones.

It has been heartbreaking to witness the negative impact of the rippling effects caused by the worldwide shutdown of non-essential businesses. Here at SPEVCO, we want to offer support during this dark and challenging time for businesses and the hardworking people that run them.

With the start of the reopening process across the country, we want to ensure the safety and health of our clients, but also provide guidance as to how you can make the most out of your investment in your specialty vehicles and trailers.

While major events, such as concerts, sporting events and festivals, remain postponed until further notice, your mobile assets do not have to sit idle all summer long. It is possible to safely utilize your specialty vehicles on a smaller scale that will still be effective and provide opportunity to achieve a return on your investment.

We want to share with you the following list of useful tips for how you can responsibly deploy your mobile marketing trailer - and play it big, while playing it safe.

Keep It Small

Our specialty vehicles are an excellent alternative to reach small groups of people, compared to larger event spaces. Many places are now allowing the resumption of smaller events that consist of no more than 50 people, as long as safety protocols are followed.

Several of our clients are discovering how their customized vehicles are a convenient and safe way to attend these down-sized events, and how they’re experiential marketing efforts can still make a big splash despite the limited capacity of the gatherings. The intimate setting might even create a more unique and impactful experience for those attending.

Go Anywhere, Any Time

The cool thing about your specialty vehicle is that it can go anywhere, at any time. As an example, you could pull into the parking lot of a major essential convenience or grocery store and set your trailer up at a safe distance if it makes sense for your program.

Just being visible is already an effective way to gain value and boost awareness of your brand. However, by enforcing the proper social-distancing conduct, you can still curate a memorable experience and build a unique bond with potential customers by spreading a little joy after a few long months of stress.

Be Prepared and Take Precaution

It is still crucial that you and your team on-site handling operations of your specialty vehicle adhere to the safety guidelines and regulations. Be sure that everyone involved is wearing masks and gloves, complying with the six-foot rule, and keeping everything sanitized.

If you are able to welcome guests onto your vehicle, allow only a few at a time. Be sure to carefully clean and sanitize everything after each interaction.

Get Creative and Stay Flexible

We are all anxiously awaiting the green light for the larger events to return and set a date to reschedule. In the meantime, you can get creative and rethink your presentations, interactive experiences and product demonstrations to work for smaller affairs. Be flexible and adjust your plans to create a modified version of what guests would’ve seen at a particular concert, roadshow or sporting event.

Some examples of these modifications might include product demonstrations that are less hands-on, but still interactive and entertaining. Limit the amount of attendees to your presentations by requiring them to sign-up beforehand.

Playing Safe Post-Pandemic

Give Back to Your Community

One of the most effective ways to stand out and build the buzz around your brand is to give back to your community. With your specialty vehicle and our assistance, you are in a unique position to be able to do just that.

Despite the fact that we are seeing the “beginning of the end” of the pandemic, there are still plenty of ways you can offer support to your local communities. Your vehicle can be used to deliver and distribute supplies to charities, organizations, or places of business that are still in desperate need.

We Are Here to Help

There is no doubt that this has been an incredibly challenging time for our country and the world. However, though it may be just a tiny spark in the distance, we are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

We’re happy to share our ideas for how you can make moves this summer and how you can adjust to the post-pandemic environment. As we all patiently wait for restrictions on larger gatherings and events to be lifted, it brings us joy to shed some light on the opportunities that still exist for our clients.

There are several ways you can get creative and adjust what you have to offer to provide fun, memorable and safe forms of engagement as long as you remain flexible. Be prepared to continuously adapt your strategy to this new reality as it continues to unravel.
